pleomorphic adenoma of minor salivary glands
Thursday 22 March 2018
Pleomorphic adenoma of minor salivary glands shows a well demarcated tumor without capsule and overlying normal oral mucosa. The trabecular arrangement of epithelial cells admixed with eosinophilic stroma within the tumor can be appreciated at low power.
Pleomorphic adenomas in minor salivary glands are usually not encapsulated but are well demarcated. Foci of squamous metaplasia can be seen.
