- epithelial degenerative changes
- eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusions within epithelial cells
- multinucleate giant cells
- histiocytes

Lung biopsy

- chronic airway inflammation
- intraalveolar foamy
- hemosiderin-laden macrophages
