monomorphic PTLD
Monomorphic PTLD includes high-grade invasive lymphoma of B- or T-cells.
This type of PTLD is often seen several years after transplantation and resembles non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) as seen in the general population.
Monomorphic B cell PTLD can be further divided into diffuse large cell lymphomas and Burkitt’s or Burkitt’s like lymphomas that display characteristic chromosomal translocations.
Monomorphic T cell PTLD can be further divided according to whether it is large cell, anaplastic or unspecified in type.
Types
B-cell monomorphic PTLD
- diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (immunoblastic, centroblastic, anaplastic)
- marginal zone B-cell lymphoma
- Burkitt lymphoma
- Burkitt-like lymphoma
- plasma cell myeloma
- plasmocytoma-like lesions
- small B-cell lymphoid neoplasm
Hodgkin lymphoma and Hodgkin-like PTLD
T-cell PTLD
- peripheral T-cell lymphoma (NOS)
- large granular lymphocyte proliferations
- large granular lymphocyte leukemia
- large granular lymphocyte lymphoma
