t(X;18)(p11;q11)

Tuesday 23 January 2007

A t(X;18)(p11.2;q11.2) is found in almost all synovial sarcomas (8O%).

The translocation t(X ;18)(p11.2 ;q11.2) seems to be specific : it is not found in other spindle cell sarcomas, and very rarely detected in other tumors as malignant fibrous histyocytoma (MFH) or fibrosarcomas.
