cyclosporine renal toxicity
Synopsis
normal kidney (cyclosporine can cause renal dysfunction by inducing vasoconstriction in the absence of morphological damage)
thrombotic microangiopathy (arterioles and glomerular tuft)
chronic glomerular injury
- segmental sclerosis superimposed on ischemic changes
- sharply delineated segmental sclerosis
- glomerular basement membrane corrugation
- glomerular basement membrane lamellation
- thickening of Bowman capsule
arteriolar hyalinosis (arteriolar hyalinization)
- concentric hyalin and medial vacuolization
- extension into the media
striped interstitial fibrosis
- fibrosis extending along medullary rays
