DDXs
DEAD box proteins (DDXs) are putative RNA helicases that have a characteristic asp-glu-ala-asp (DEAD) box as 1 of 8 highly conserved sequence motifs.
By altering RNA secondary structure they can influence translation initiation, splicing, and ribosome and splicesome assembly.
