Etiology
Amiodarone-induced change in thyroid
hypercholesterolaemia due to hypothyroidism
thyroid palpation-induced changes
tumoral stoma of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC)
- Foamy macrophages only without thyroglobulin level information in FNAC could raise the possibility of cystic metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) even if no identifiable tumor cells are found.
- Foamy cells can be found in the stroma of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
