Definition: subtype of fusiform cell tumors expressing a myofibroblastic differentiation and SMA smooth muscle actin.

 benign myofibroblastic tumors

 intermeditae myofibroblastic tumors

 malignant myofibroblastic tumors

Examples

 Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT). IHC: ALK1. NB: spindle cell fascicles; prominent nucleoli; lymphoplasmacytosis.
