Definition: In biology, an living organism is any contiguous living system, such as an animal, a plant, a fungus, or a bacteria.

An organism is composed of components / component, structured in level of organisation :
 systems
 organs
 tissues
 cells
 cellualr organites
 biomolecules
 atoms

Types

  viruses
 unicellular organisms

 multicellular eukaryotes : metazoans

  • plantae
  • fungi
  • animalia

Components

 limits / organismal limit
 cellular compartment
 extracellular compartment

Pathology

During a disease , a component can be subject to morphological anomalies , than can be macroscoical anomalies or microscopical anomalies.

The function of this component can be altered , causing a pathological process .
