 Dermal duct tumor, in the family of poroid tumors. bland, poroid cells. no connection to epiderm (in THIS plane).

Synopsis

 cords and nests of small keratinocytes attached to the epidermis
 nests are sharply delimited from adjacent epidermis
  ducts and sharply delimited islands of squamous epithelium
 intraepidermal (“hidroacanthoma simplex”), intradermal (“dermal duct tumor”) or mixed (most common)
  dermis with reactive vessels and inflammatory infiltrate
 possible heavily pigmented variants
 granulation-like tissue in the stroma

Types

 classic eccrine poroma (trabecular eccrine poroma )
 hidroacanthoma simplex (intraepithelial poroma )
 dermal duct tumor (intradermal poroma )
 syringoacanthoma
 syringofibroadenoma
 poroid hidradenoma

Differential diagnosis

 acrosyringeal adenomatosis
 basal cell carcinoma
 seborrheic keratosis

 associated ducts
 sharply delimited islands of squamous epithelium
 dermis has reactive vessels and inflammatory infiltrate
 possible heavily pigmented variants

DIfferential diagnosis

 acrosyringeal adenomatosis
 basal cell carcinoma (BCC)
 seborrheic keratosis
