Appendix testis; testicular hydatid of Morgagni
Definition: In male, the appendix testis (or testicular hydatid of Morgagni) is a vestigial remnant of the Müllerian duct, present on the upper pole of the testis and attached to the tunica vaginalis. It is present about 90% of the time. It has no physiological function.

Nota bene: The hydatid of Morgagni can refer to one of two closely related structures in male and female:
In male: testicular hydatid of Morgagni (or appendix testis)
In female: vesicular appendage of epoophoron
- In female, the vesicular appendage of the epoophoron (hydatid of Morgagni in female) form one or more small pedunculated vesicles in connection with the fimbriae of the uterine tube, or with the broad ligament close to them.
