Examples
- Dense areas of fibrosis-creating plaques usually on the anterior, and posterior-lateral areas of the parietal pleura and also on the domes of the diaphragm.
- Microscopically they are composed of dense collagenous tissue sometimes with calcifications, but do not contain asbestos bodies.
