female hypogonadism

Female hypogonadism may be acquired or congenital.

Etiology

Inflammation, chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide or radiation may destroy the function of a cyclic ovary. Congenital ovarian hypoplasia may affect one or both ovaries and there may be partial or complete ovarian dysfunction.
