polypoid endometriosis

The term polypoid endometriosis was first coined by Mostoufizadeh and Scully for an uncommon and distinctive variant of endometriosis with histologic features simulating those of an endometrial polyp.
They also noted that this type of endometriosis may form large, often multiple, polypoid masses that not only simulate malignant tumors at operation but may also recur after operative removal.
